About the Book

Not an outsider looking in

Since 2001, Victoria Smith has photographed Coldplay from the inside—a trusted witness to their journey. From intimate club shows and quiet backstage moments to the largest stadium performances on Earth, One Lens traces the band’s evolution through the eyes of one photographer, whose own practice evolved alongside them, from film to digital.

Featuring 300+ photographs, many published for the first time, this beautifully curated collection captures not only the energy of live performance, but also the quiet moments between them — revealing the humanity, friendship, and passage of time behind one of the world's most beloved bands.

The Photographer

Victoria Smith

Portrait of the photographer Victoria Smith

Victoria Smith has spent a lifetime behind the lens, drawn to the space where performance meets the person. Her work with Coldplay began before the stadiums — in sweat-soaked clubs and dim lit corridors — and has continued through every chapter since.

Beyond this collection, her photography spans music, portraiture, and the fleeting in-between moments most people never see. Explore more of her work and ongoing projects on her personal site.
